Tour I:
Beijing
Day 1 &
2: Depart Detroit for
Beijing, China.
You’ll be crossing the International Date Line,
arriving in Beijing "a day" later. Beijing is 12 hours ahead of US. Have
the health and entry forms, given to you by the flight attendant, ready
for arrival. Our hosts from Beijing’s Yan Haung Clinical Hospital will
meet you at the newly constructed, thoroughly modern Capital
Airport in Beijing and transport you to your hotel.
Day 3: Visit
to the Yan Haung Clinical Hospital Tour, diagnosis, treatment,
massage. Confucius Temple and Xiu Shui, Silk
Alley.
Breakfast at the Hotel. Tour of our host Traditional
Chinese Medical facility, Beijing’s renowned Yan Huang Clinical Hospital.
We’ll introduce you to the expert TCM teams, among the most elite in
China, then break into small groups for:
- Examination, diagnosis and treatment plans. Prescriptions
will be written for herbal medicines that will be delivered for use the
next day
- A tour of the grounds with an emphasis on the
historical importance of the complex
- A TCM foot massage to prepare you for the afternoon trip
to the Confucius Temple
You’ll have lunch, followed by a trip to exciting Xiu
Shui, Silk Alley. Prepare to bargain—and buy! Return to the hotel to rest
before dinner. Enjoy a Personal "Bedtime Massage" in your room before bedtime.
Day 4: Full
Day Tour of Beijing
Breakfast at the Hotel. After receiving
instruction on the proper ways to prepare your herbal medications, you’ll tour the city by
modern motor coach. First stop Mao’s Tomb, followed by a stroll in the
world’s largest and most famous square, Tiananmen Square. After a nice lunch, you’ll visit the
intriguing Forbidden City, then return to your hotel via a romantic
three-wheeled taxi (bicycle sedan). You’ll need to rest up in preparation
for your amazing eight-to twelve-course Herbal Cuisine dinner. You’ll be
treated to a mini-cooking lesson before dining.
Day 5: The
Great Wall at Mutianyu, Herb-growing fields and Beijing Qijing Chinese
Herbal Factory. Tongretang Pharmacy. Dinner. Optional excursion to Peking
Opera
Breakfast at the Hotel. Board bus for an exciting tour of the
Great Wall at Mutianyu. After visiting the stunning,
centuries old, manmade wonder, you’ll enjoy a relaxing lunch before making
a brief visit to the herb growing fields and processing plant of Beijing’s
famous Qijing Chinese Herbal Factory. Then a stop at the 340-year old
Tongretang Pharmacy . We’ll return to the hotel for some leisure time
before dinner. After dinner, you can choose to have the evening free or
enjoy an optional trip to the world famous, Peking Opera.
Day 6: Half
Day Tour Temple of Heaven, Pearl Market, Peking Duck
Dinner
Breakfast at the Hotel. Board motor coach for trip to
intriguing 600-year old Temple of Heaven. Emperors from the early Ming and Qing
dynasties worshiped here. Toaists revered the temple’s ‘Well of Heaven,"
believing it connected directly to the celestial home of the deities.
Lunch will be followed by a trip to the Pearl Market, then back to the
hotel for a rest before going to Beijing's most famous restaurant for a
lovely Peking Duck Dinner.
Day 7: Follow-up visits to Yan Huang.
Farewell Banquet
Breakfast at the hotel. Return visit to Yan Huang
Clinical Hospital for follow-up examination, consultation and adjustments
to Herbal medications, if needed. Plenty of time for questions and answers
with staff and specialists. Lunch, followed by free time for last minute
shopping. We’ll have a farewell banquet to celebrate the events of the
week and say good-bye to our hosts from Yan Huang and our guides. Then
it’s time to pack and prepare for your departure back to the US.
Departure From China: We’ve been advised by our hosts, that
everyone must have any baggage that’s to be checked in for the flight
ready for handling at the time indicated (we’ll advise you of the exact
time well in advance). Check to see that your personal ID and Tour luggage
tag is on your luggage. We’ll notify you of the exact departure time.
Please be ready. We’ll have time for breakfast, but must depart the hotel
promptly.
Day 8: Return to US
Breakfast
at the Hotel. Transportation to the Beijing Capital Airport for check-in
and flight back to the US.
Tour II The
Extended Tour: Shanghai, Suzhou and Zhouzhuang
If you have signed up for the optional
extension, Tour II to Shanghai and Suzhou, your itinerary will continue as
follows: DEPARTURE FOR THE EXTENDED TOURˆ You‚ll be notified of the
exact flight time, the hotel departure time and the time that baggage will
be collected. You will be given Tour II luggage tags for any bags that are
not carry on. Keep your carry-on bags with you.
Day 8: Flight to Shanghai. Shanghai Museum, People’s Square,
Bund
Breakfast at the Hotel, then transfer to Beijing Capital
Airport for flight to Shanghai. You baggage will be transferred for you.
After a leisurely lunch, you visit the Shanghai Museum and People’s Square. Dinner will be downtown Shanghai,
followed by a visit to the Waterfront and the Bund.
Day 9: Yu
Yuan Garden, Old Town Shopping, Half Day City Tour
Breakfast at the
hotel, followed by a visit to the Yu
Yuan Garden. A trip to The Old Town Shopping
District is also scheduled. Lunch will be followed by a half-day bus
tour of Shanghai, and a return to the hotel. Dinner tonight will be at an
Argentine Bar-B-Q restaurant.
Day 10:
Suzhou, Silk Museum, Tiger Hill Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a
bus trip to Suzhou. Check in at the hotel. After lunch, visit the
sumptuous silk museum, and then on to the Leaning Pagoda of Tiger
Hill. Dinner tonight will be typical Suzhou Cuisine with forays of
delicious herbs.
Day 11: Famous Gardens of Suzhou,
Half Day Tour
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a visit to one of
Suzhou’s famous gardens. It will be selected just before the Suzhou visit,
based on the attractiveness of the flowers, foliage and weather.
After lunch there will be a bus tour of the Suzhou New
District, the Singapore Development District, Lake Taihu and other areas
of interest. A return to the hotel for dinner followed by surprise
entertainment and a salute of good-bye to Suzhou and Shanghai.
Day 12: Visit to
Zhouzhuang, centuries old waterside town
Motor coach trip to enchanting town of Zhouzhuang. It's 900-year old architecture and arched
bridges evoke the true feeling of ancient China, undisturbed. Over half
the homes were built during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911)
dynasty. Traditional crafts and folk costumes add regional color. A full
day of touring before returning to Shanghai
Day 13: Free Day: Relax, do some last
minute shopping or prepare leisurely for your return trip home. Evening
meal at the hotel.
DEPARTURE FROM CHINA- We’ve been advised by our hosts that
everyone must have their checked baggage packed and ready for pick-up at
the indicated time (you will be notified of the exact time). Be sure your
personal ID& Tour Luggage tag is on your luggage. There will be a
farewell banquet to celebrate the events of the week and to say "Good Bye"
to your hosts and your Guides.
Day 14: Flight Back To
US
Breakfast; transportation to the Beijing Capital Airport for
baggage check in and the flight back to the USA.
